Coronavirus Update 18th March
Members Only
Diary Event

As you will be aware the situation regarding Coronavirus is constantly evolving and we all need to take the necessary steps to protect the wellbeing of members and guests while following Government guidelines. Our priority is to ensure that members are still able to enjoy a game of golf and all the obvious health benefits that it brings. As a result of this the golf course will remain open, unless Government guidelines change.

While we are able to keep the course open for play, unfortunately we must pose retrictions on the use of the club facilities. Accordingly, from 6pm Wednesday 18th March the only areas within the clubhouse which will be open to the members will be the Ladies and Gents locker rooms and the Professional shop facilities. These areas will be thoroughly cleaned every day with regular wiping down of surfaces also carried out. Members will be asked to use the disposable gloves supplied while using the locker rooms. Supplies of hand sanitising gel are also available for members use.

Regrettably we will have to close the main lounge, member's lounge and the dirty bar facilities until further notice. Two bookings for funerals will be honoured by the club on Friday and Monday but all other functions will be cancelled up to the end of April. The situation will be reviewed regularly. The joker lottery is suspended.

It is important that any members showing symptoms of fever and/or cough do not come to the club and follow guidelines on self-isolation.

We intend to carry on with competition golf when the season starts unless Government advice causes us to review this. As the PSI touch screen will not be accessible, cards should be handed in to the Pro Shop where they will be entered into the system by either Simon or a member of the committee.

We would also ask that members do not turn up excessively early for tee times as we do not want large numbers gathering around the locker room or Pro Shop. Members should also refrain from shaking hands during and after their rounds and follow all hand washing and hygiene protocols. We also recommend putting with the flag in to avoid unnecessary touching of potentially non sanatised surfaces.

We are acutely aware that for some members, coming to the club for a coffee/drink and catching up with friends is an important part of their week and for some it may be the only social interaction. If members know of anyone for whom this decision will cause difficulties, can they contact the Secretary and we will try and help if possible.

Thank you for your understanding during this incredibly challenging time. Our aim is to protect the wellbeing of our members and guests and allow everyone to keep playing this wonderful game. If anyone has any questions or concerns please contact the Secretary (07817287049) or a Committee member.
